Papadakis suits up for day 1 action.
With the help of crew mate
Greg Nakayno, Stephan
tells ST.com that he is going for it !
No holding back even though
his competition is a field of 3 rather than the full field of 8 drivers.

While the weather and track
conditions were less than perfect
Papadakis didn't hold back
in his first run.
However a 7 second run was not to be.
The burn out got the crowd going.
At the line all seemed well,
everyone wanted to see the clock
punch out that magic number.
With only 3 competitors in his class
Papadakis took the pro-tree
green light by himself.
Somewhere right before the 1/8 mile mark something went awry.
You could hear a sputtering.
And just after the sputtering Papadakis let off.
All of the spectators were still in disbelief but this run was a bust.
